Entry Level Management Trainee - Design Build and Maintenance Departments 

 

We're looking for creative, highly motivated, innovative and people oriented management trainees to join our fast paced design build and maintenance teams.   

 

Design Build Team Requirements: Initial responsibilities of this year-round position include, but are not limited to, assisting foremen with the installation of landscape projects, yard support, assisting landscape designers with various duties, and participation in the snowplow effort.  Development opportunities include design support and development, project management, and client and sales management.   

 

Maintenance Team Requirements: Initial responsibilities of this year-round position include, but are not limited to, field production activities, account supervision activities, horticultural services, site take-offs and participation in the snowplow effort.  Development opportunities also include client management, sales and team management training.

 

Education Requirements: A 2 or 4 year degree in Horticulture or Landscape Design/Architecture is required. 

 

Hours: 50+ hours per week during the months of April-November.  45 hours per week during the winter with potential for evenings and Saturdays for snowplow assistance.

Intern Positions

include the following opportunities with:

 

Design/Build Support

  • Create base maps through the use of AutoCAD Release 2000 Complete site surveys
  • Assist Landscape Architects with various duties from conceptual designs to final plans

Design/Build Production

  • Assist foremen and crews with construction of landscape projects
  • Install plant material and hardscapes

Maintenance Production

  • Assist foremen and crews with maintenance operations
  • Complete site surveys and assist with site inspections

Design Build and Maintenance Production positions may also include: Nursery Yard Support

  • Assist with plant material acquisition, job staging and care
  • Assist with various yard management procedures.

Annual and Perennial Flower Production

  • Coordination and installation of annual flowers Assist with care and maintenance of annual beds
  • Documentation of annual flower layouts

Internship opportunities are available for 3-12 months.  The Intern salary range is $8.00-$10.00/per hour based upon experience. Housing is not provided.  Assistance with short-term housing is available to prospective candidates.  Commitments for Intern positions will be made by May 1st of each year.
